On our walk to a friend's house the other day, N and I were happy to spot the first promises of spring--crocuses and snowdrops! N was excited to point to and smell them, and made sure to say "Ciao!" as we kept walking.

Big Achievements!
I came into the kitchen the other day and there was Neva, looking at her book and practicing counting (she can get to TWO!) She was eager to show Papa her skills...
Here she is beating her all time personal record for block stacking...15 blocks!

Today was Candlemas, a day to celebrate the lengthening days. In pre-Christian days it was a time to honor the Celtic goddess Brigit. In some traditions it is a time to bless candles that will be used in church throughout the year. Neva and I celebrated by having a traditional pancake breakfast...
Keeping candles lit throughout the day....
And melting our beeswax scraps to make a new candle....
